The early morning death of a toddler in Johnstown Friday has been ruled a homicide, authorities said.
The Cambria County Coroner’s Office, District attorney’s Office and Johnstown Police Department held a press conference Tuesday morning to provide updates on three homicides within the city in the past four days.
Coroner Jeff Lees identified the toddler as 14-month-old Gianna Lewis-Rice.
Lees said the girl died from massive blood loss due to blunt force trauma from abuse.
District Attorney Greg Neugebauer says investigators have a good timeline of the last six to 10 hours leading up to the child’s death.
He says they are aware of who the girl’s caregivers were and have a person or multiple people of interest.
He says charges have not yet been formally filed.
