Luigi Mangione, the man suspected of gunning down United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is now scheduled to face a Blair County judge sooner than expected.
On Tuesday, Pennsylvania courts announced that his preliminary hearing date is being moved up.
Mangione was originally scheduled to be in court, for his preliminary hearing, on Dec. 23rd, but will now face a Blair County judge later this week, on the morning of the 19th.
Mangione is charged with felony forgery and illegal weapons possession following his arrest at an Altoona-area McDonald’s last Monday.
He then contested his extradition to New York but has since retained a Manhattan defense attorney.
According to a new court order, an extradition proceeding will be included in this week’s hearing on Dec. 19th.
Mangione is also scheduled to have a bail hearing on Dec. 30th after his local defense attorney, Thomas Dickey, filed a motion to consider granting bail.
