From the offense to the defense where the common thread for this team so far in 2020 has been their slow starts. The defense has been dominant in the 2nd half of all their games. But its been the 1st half that’s been their Achilles heel.
Linebacker Ellis Brooks says this is something they’ve been trying to get corrected in practice, but now its time to relate that into the games.
“Starting fast is a skill that we have been emphasizing in practice. Its not just something you can go out in games and just do. I don’t think it has to do with warmups or anything like that. Its just about being intent from the first snap to the last. As soon as you come in just having that energy so we can translate that into Saturdays.”
Kickoff with the Hawkeyes will be at 3:30 on Saturday from Beaver Stadium.
