Its finally game week in Happy Valley, Penn State is getting ready for its season opener, a benchmark this team cannot wait to meet.
Its all Big Ten action here for the Nittany Lions as they prepare for Indiana on Saturday afternoon. Penn State has had the dominant upper hand in this series winning 22 of the 23 match ups, including 11 of the 12 in Bloomington.
Not only will the Blue and White get ready for the Hoosiers, but they’ll deal with the COVID-19 protocols as well.
Tight End Pat Freiermuth said this is something that is not going away for him and his teammates, and they’ll just have to deal with it.
“At the end of the day, there’s going to be a football field and its going to be 11 on 11 and there’s a football and we are going to count points to see who wins. At the end of the day, we control what we can control. I’ve taken the approach this year when I’m in the building to turn my phone off and block out all the noise and just focus on what I can do to become better and what I can do to help this team to become successful moving forward.”
Kickoff from Bloomington will be at 3:30.
And one man that will not be joining the Nittany Lions on Saturday will be Running Back Journey Brown. The red shirt sophomore will miss the entire 2020 season to be treated for an undisclosed illness that was discovered in the off season.
Brown led the team with 890 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns in 2019.
