Nittany View Park Upgrades

In Centre County, the Nittany View Park in Harris Township got some upgrades.

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources awarded $50,000 to the township to replace outdated equipment for a new playground.

The township put up another $20,000 for the project which also includes upgrades to walking paths connecting the park with nearby neighborhoods.

Officials say the park is ready for play for kids of all ages.

They say this was a project several years in the making.

“We thought we were going to do this in 2020. Then the lockdown hit. We really couldn’t do anything. And then with supply chain issues we had last year, it got delayed again. So it’s been probably four to five years in the making. So that’s why everyone’s been chomping at the bit to get on this.”

There are still some finishing touches that are needed, which will happen over the next few weeks.
