State and local police in Somerset County are investigating a threat that was made toward North Star School District Wednesday, officials say.
Details are limited at this time, but district superintendent Louis Lepley confirmed that students and staff were placed in lockdown as authorities investigated.
Lepley did not confirm the nature nor circumstances surrounding the threat, but state police were seen at the schools as students dismissed for the day.
Several parents tell us they were alerted of a district lockdown via emails and texts from the school district.
