A nursing assistant at a Philadelphia Hospital is dead after a co-worker shot him early this Morning.
The 55 year old gunman shot the 43 year old man on the 9th floor of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital then fled in a Uhaul van.
An hour later police found him nearby while responding to a call about a man in scrubs firing a weapon.
He engaged those officers in a gunfight hitting one in the elbow, and another in the nose.
Officers shot the suspect when they returned fire.
He was wearing body armor and carrying multiple weapons, including a long gun believed to be an AR-15.
The officer shot in the elbow is in critical condition, and the officer shot in the nose is stable.
The suspect is in critical condition and expected to survive.
