Nursing Home Visitations

Governor Wolf and the Pennsylvania Department of Health recently announced revised guidelines for nursing home visitation.

New protocols once again allow families to visit loved ones in care facilities.

Included in these rules are that all facilities should allow responsible indoor visitation for all residents, regardless of whether or not they’ve been vaccinated.

Residents who are vaccinated can once again have close contact visits, regardless of whether those who visit them have gotten their doses.

Mask wearing and social distancing are still required in all facilities, but the director of the Centre County office on aging says this is a promising step.

“With the coronavirus came an increased isolation and its had a devastating effect and we’re in support of addressing that need now, and that seems to be the purpose behind these guidelines and we definitely support that.”
