Old Bedford Village

Looking ahead to this weekend the Old Bedford Village will be hosting its living history weekend.

The event will feature re-enactors from all eras of county history portraying life in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Demonstrations will also be conducted on hearth cooking,  doll making , military maneuvers, as well as many displays featuring early artifacts.

Bedford County has factored prominently in not only state history but the country as a whole.

Organizers say what makes this event unique is the fact that all of the events and demonstrations are directly related to life within Bedford County in those eras.

“All of these buildings that are log cabin have come from somewhere in Bedford County. And a lot of people do not know the history behind them, that’s why we try to have interpreters in that building
that does know about that building to teach them, you know, the history that we have here. You know, we want to educate them on what it was like back in that time period.”

You can find out more about this event and others by visiting Old Bedford Villiage online.
