An official with the Pa Department Of Education made a special appearance at a Blair County school district Today as part of Read Across America week.
Altoona area school district’s Pleasant Valley Elementary School
Was visited by State Education Secretary Noe Ortega Today via livestream.
He read the book Your Future Is Bright to over 4000 students in the district’s eight elementary schools.
Secretary Ortega also discussed the Wolf Administration’s financial commitment to education funding.
“It’s going to help out schools with regards to making sure our kids make up for the missed learning of the past two years. It’s also going to help promote things like improving my literacy, improving success for our young folks.”
The students worked together to make a book which they presented to Secretary Ortega at the end of the assembly.
He promised them that he would take it back & display it inside the Department Of Education.
