Pa Outdoor Veterans

You’re not alone thats one of the motivating thoughts for a Pennsylvania Veteran who has been on a long quest to help other veterans with a primary goal to reduce veteran suicides.

The volunteer non profit organization, Pa Outdoor Veterans was founded in 2015 by Ryan Bowman an Operation Iraqi Freedom Vet himself. We first met Bowman almost two years ago. Despite the onset of the pandemic he then was talking about a primary mission to build a retreat facility in the Centre County area, specifically for veterans and their families

“This is the levitation drawing the architect did for us, that is the facility, the facility is 21 thousand square feet”

With the veteran suicide rate on the increase, Bowman says a retreat can help veterans in a stress free, nature setting that can have a strong healing effect.

The retreat facility, still in the works, with Bowman gathering letters of support statewide for the project

“We talk with him, thats its going to be a years long process to build up the grant funding, the end vision is a tremendous one, it would be a retreat center in the Moshannon area, the Snow Shoe area”

Pa Outdoor Veterans, in the meantime, continuing to do fundraising, and hosting a full schedule of events for vets and military families
