Pa. State Budget

Lawmakers are continuing work on a new state budget plan

Back in May a budget plan was approved that runs through the end of this month.

Now the focus is on a budget for the remainder of the fiscal year through next June.

Governor Tom Wolf is asking for an additional $10 billion dollars and lawmakers are looking for federal assistance.

“Were counting on federal assistance, and revenues are coming in better than expected with some cares act money and some other budgetary moves,we can get through this year ok”

State lawmakers say avoiding any tax increases is a priority for a new budget but that could mean cutbacks elsewhere. Senate and house leaders say they may have a tentative budget in place by the end of the week.
