The Pittsburgh Penguins entered Thursday Night’s battle with the Toronto Maple Leafs as Winners of 4 straight games. That momentum didn’t exactly make the trip with the Pens North of the Border. The Pens gave up a goal in the first shift of the game, and did not manage to score until they were already down 3-0 in the 3rd Period.
Special Teams were key in this one. The Pens did not score a Power Play goal, and instead gave up a shorty. Malkin did manage the Pens’ lone tally, but that was all the Pens managed in the 4-1 defeat.
