Penn State is trying to find a solution to its problems. This group has gotten off to a 0-4 start. And one of the reasons for the struggles Has been their inability to get out of the blocks.
Slow starts have been a trend for the Nittany Lions in 2020. Its what’s put them in a hole in all 4 losses so far. The offense has struggled to get in a rhthym. And the defense doesn’t make the right adjustments till the 2nd half.
Head Coach James Franklin knows this has been a problem since the start of his tenure in Happy Valley. And something his guys need to fix quickly.
“We got to find a way to play better in opening drives. We have to protect the ball on offense and we have to play our brand that we play on defense in the 2nd halves earlier in games. I think more than anything, its tackling. Its being able to adjust to all the different looks we are getting early in games.”
Kickoff with the Iowa will be at 330 on Saturday.
