Penn State will have to replace one of their running backs for the rest of the season. Journey Brown is going to miss the year due to an undisclosed illness that was discovered in the offseason.
Brown produced 890 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Now its up to guys like Noah Cain and Devyn Ford to carry the load.
Cain and Ford combined for almost 800 yards and 11 scores last year. Franklin says he trusts the guys who will now be in the starting lineup and its their turn to shine.
“We do feel that Noah has the ability to carry the load. We feel that Devyn can as well. We’ll see how those young guys are based on how they prepare this week. You would love to get them in the game and see how they would do in that setting. We feel very confident.”
Brown plans to be back for the Nittany Lions in 2021.
