Penn State Womens Basketball Update

College basketball where the Penn State women had their media day this afternoon. The Nittany Lions are looking for a better showing than what they did a season ago. And they feel they have the tools to do so.

Penn State went 7-23 and just 1-17 in the Big Ten in Carolyn Kieger’s first year at the helm. This group certainly had a lot of growing pains that they hope will lead to a lot of success this season. The roster is filled with plenty of freshman and sophomores and just 5 upperclassmen.

Kieger says that her staff has been very busy trying to build this team’s chemistry. Something that is not easy to do in the covid era.

“Its been unique. We’ve been creative. My staff has been phenomenal. I give a lot of credit to the players, they’ve bought in immediately. We’re doing a lot of stuff off the court, I think that’s helping. Right now the people that they can hang out with in the bubble are each other. That’s been a blessing.”

The Nittany Lions schedule is expected to be released next week.
