Pens / Rangers

On the ice, there’s more than just two points on the line between the Penguins and the Rangers as the two meet for the second time in five days, but Tonight this one’s in Pittsburgh.

Second place in the Metro Division is on the line with the two teams separated by just one point in the standings, and the Rangers have a game in hand on the Penguins.

These two seemed destined for a first round playoff series, so post positioning is huge because it does determine who gets home.

Pens defenseman Brian Dumoulin and head coach Mike Sullivan had this to say after today’s morning skate.

“Obviously tonight we’re no match up or no, it’s a big game, but a lot of focus on ourselves here and trying to be more consistent, especially in these big games, and just play well. I mean, if they score a goal, we can’t get down on ourselves.”

“We’re going to continue to play and continue to push and have some more motion to our lineup. So we know the kind of circumstances of tonight give them credit. They played extremely well, but we certainly didn’t have the type of effort that that lives up to to the expectation of the Pittsburgh Penguins.”

“And I think I think that that for me was was disappointing from our standpoint. We’ve got an opportunity to, to respond”
