Pirates 2021 MLB Draft

The MLB Draft has been going on for the past couple of days. The Pittsburgh Pirates are trying to secure their future that will allow them to compete in the National League and they started off with a really good piece.

With the 1st Overall Pick, the Buccos selected Catcher Henry Davis from Louisville. He becomes the 2nd Catcher in the last 3 years to be taken 1st Overall. Davis was very strong for the Cardinals this past Season hitting .370 with 15 Home Runs and 10 stolen bases. While becoming a 1st Team All-American and a Finalist for the Buster Posey Award given out to the Nation’s top Catcher. It is expected that Davis will now head to Bradenton to start his Professional Career.

The 2nd through the 10th rounds of the MLB Draft kept going on Monday. This is who the Pirates picked up:
In the 2nd Round it is Pitcher Anthony Solometo and Outfielder Lonnie White Jr.

In the 3rd, it was Pitcher Bubba Chandler.

Pitcher Owen Kellington went in the 4th.

3rd Baseman Glen Jackson in the 5th.

In the 6th Round, the Pirates took Shortstop Mike Jarvis.

Catcher Wyatt Hendrie goes in the 7th.

Pitcher Sean Sullivan was taken in the 8th.
