Pirates Go Back-to-Back Against Cubs

The Pirates’ Home Opener didn’t go in the Buccos favor, but since then the Pirates have dominated the Chicago Cubs earning Back-to-Back Wins. It all started Saturday night in the Second Inning when the Pirates put up 7 runs.

That carried over to Sunday’s game. In the bottom of the Second, JT Brubaker started on the mound. He had 4 Strikeouts and Singles bringing in two runs. Brubaker back up to bat in the Third. Kevin Newman scores, so the Starting Pitcher picked up 3 RBI’s against the Cubs. That’s most for the Team and the Bucs lead by 3 runs.

In the bottom of the 4th, Colin Moran singles. Phillip Evans runs home making it 5-1 Buccos. Here’s the cherry on top to end the Series with Chicago. In the bottom of the 7th, Wilmer Difo knocks one 355 feet for his first Home Run this Season. The Pirates pick up back-to-back Wins at PNC Park for opening week.

The Pirates will stay home for their next Series as they host the San Diego Padres. Remember that Joe Musgrove just threw the Padres’ first ever no-hitter Friday Night against the Rangers. The Bucs will face their former Pitcher Wednesday night, but first they start things off Monday at 6:35.
