Pirates Opener

The Major League Baseball season kicked off Today as opening day saw a full slate of games across the league.

And for the Pittsburgh Pirates, they’ll have to wait a week before playing a home game.

The Bucs kicked off the season inside the friendly confines of Wrigley Field opening up a set with the Chicago Cubs.

Remember last season featured a 60 game season due to the pandemic.

This year we get a full schedule.

Top of the first inning runner on Ke-Bryant Hayes deep and gone to left field.

He got it off cubs starter Kyle Hendricks Pirates lead 2-0.

Bottom one Jock Pederson with the bases loaded.

It’s a sac fly to left off Chad Kuhl run scores 2-1.

Chad Kuhl got the ball for manager Derrick Shelton.

Strikes out Pederson swinging to end the third.

Kuhl went 3 innings struckout 2 and gave up 1 earned run.

Top of the 5th Jacob Stallings doubles to left.

Bucs tack on its now 4-2.

The Pirates go on to win, 5 to 3
