Pitt Panther Football Update

Now to some scheduling news for the Nittany Lions. Virginia Tech announced Yesterday that their game in 2025 at Beaver Stadium has been canceled. Things comes after the game that was supposed to be in Blacksburg this year was canceled due to covid.

That now leaves a spot open for that year. And Pitt would love to fill that void. Panther head coach Pat Narduzzi said he wants to get the word out that the Panthers want another shot at the Nittany Lions.

Pitt has been adamant about extending the series. But scheduling conflicts have made that tough for Penn State.

And the Panthers got some good news this week. Head coach Pat Narduzzi announced that Senior Qarterback Kenny Pickett will return for one more year with the Panthers. He will use his extra year granted by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pickett has thrown for over 2400 yards and 13 touchdowns this season. Yesterday Narduzzi was excited about the recruiting class he brought in. But was just as excited about the return of his signal caller.

“The staff was rocking this morning knowing Kenny is coming back for another year. He had opportunities and he texted me last night saying Coach I love Pittsburgh, I love this team, and I’m coming back to finish what I started. That’s an exact quote.”

If he plays. Pickett will be the first panther Qb to play in 5 different seasons
