At the beginning of this NHL season the Penguins started play without their star Center Evgeni Malkin.
Geno had knee surgery in the offseason and returned to the lineup back in January.
Over the span of 32 games Malkin has 35 points 18 assists 17 goals and 5 game winning goals including the one in overtime Last Night against the Minnesota Wild in the 4-3 victory.
However Geno is not the only player who has dealt with injuries this season.
Last night Jason Zucker returned to the lineup but the Penguins finished the victory without him.
Zucker returned to the Penguins lineup Last Night after sitting out the previous 30 games.
Zucker had a core muscle problem that required surgery back in late January.
After a short time on the ice Zucker was re-injured about midway through the 2nd period but this time it was his leg.
After an awkward hit on the boards Zucker had to be helped off the ice.
Despite the shortened departure Zucker had an assist in the win.
After the game Malkin who scored the game winning goal in overtime presented Zucker with the Viking Helmet that goes to the Player Of The Game.
The team all agreed on one thing it was great to have him back but losing Zucker again was awful.
The Penguins had the day off Today so no official update on Zucker.
But after the game Zucker was seen walking on his own and dressed up in a suit so that could be promising.
Up next the Penguins have the Colorado Avalanche for 2 games straight.
First one is on the road. Saturday at 5.
Then Tuesday at home. Puck will drop at 7.
