As State Republican lawmakers threaten to audit Pennsylvania’s election results President Joe Biden came to Philadelphia Today to denounce such action in the state and across the nation
Biden says it is imperative to pass congressional proposals meant to override the measures passed in state’s across the nation that Biden claims will restrict voting rights.
He says if those proposals do not pass he would launch a nationwide campaign to arm voters with information on rule changes and restrictions ahead of the 20-22 midterm elections.
Biden said people who deny the election result are simply denying facts.
“Audits. Recounts were conducted in Arizona, Wisconsin. In Georgia it was recounted three times. It’s clear for those who challenge the results and question the integrity of the election, no other
election has ever been held under such scrutiny, such high standards. The big lie is just that, a big lie.”
Governor Tom Wolf and Attorney General Josh Shapiro were also in attendence.
Both have fought against claims of voter fraud from the November election.
President Joe Biden said that preserving voting rights is a test of our time and said the efforts to curtail voting accessibility is un-american and un-democratic
He said the 2020 election, with all of that entailed and all the scrutiny placed on it, showed have been celebrated as a monumental achievement rather than the rigged abomination a majority of
republicans seem to think it was.
“In America if you lose, you accept the results, you follow the constitution. You try again. You don’t call facts fake and try to bring down the American experiment just because you’re unhappy.
That’s not statesmanship. That’s not statesmanship. That’s selfishness. That’s not democracy. It’s the denial of the right to vote.”
