Pennsylvania State Police say they’ve arrested one of their own corporals for crimes related to obstructing and tampering with a criminal investigation.
The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards, Internal Affairs Division filed charges against Corporal Jennifer Ruhl.
Investigators say Ruhl tried to cover up a drunk driving investigation involving the father of a state trooper in Nov. 2019.
They say she was assigned as a patrol supervisor at Troop J-Avondale at the time.
Ruhl faces charges of obstructing administration of law or other governmental function, false swearing – official proceeding, tampering with public records or information and hindering apprehension or prosecution, according to state police.
Ruhl enlisted in the PSP in January 1998 and is assigned to the Drug Law Enforcement Division within the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
State police say she’s currently suspended without pay pending the outcome of the charges she faces.
