Read Across America Day

Today is Read Across America Day which is a way to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

Students at C.G. Johnson Elementary School in Reynoldsville participated in several challenges

Including one that started in October. Students were encouraged to read 100 books by Today.

Classes that completed the challenge got awards from the Cat In The Hat.

Every student in those classes got a free book.

“We have so many students who don’t have access to books so this is an opportunity to get those books in their hands. And the importance of reading alone can not be over emphasized. And we find our students are never too old to be read to.”

She says most classes were able to complete their goal of reading 100 books.
