The most serious charges against a former Clearfield County mayor who was charged last week for firing shots at two people have been withdrawn, according to online court documents.
On Wednesday, a preliminary hearing was held for Ida Reams, the former mayor of Osceola Mills, who allegedly shot at two people playing Pokémon Go.
Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers clarified that while the aggravated assault charges against Reams have been withdrawn, both the prosecution and the defense came to an agreement that those charges can be refiled, if deemed necessary.
Sayers says that the decision to withdraw said charges stemmed from the current status of the investigation and statements from the victims.
Reams also faces additional charges of reckless endangerment, Sayers noted.
Reams’ next court date is scheduled for April 13.
