Reported Death in Clearfield Fire

We’re learning from family members that one person died in a massive fire Saturday night in Clearfield County and that Borough crews from three other nearby Counties came to the scene. The family of the victim told us that one person was killed in the fire, but the Lead Authorities in this case have not yet released that information.

Clearfield County Dispatch told us the first calls came in about a garage fire around 7:15pm Saturday night on Simpson Street in Gulich Township. Crews arriving first on the scene were advised of a possible entrapment and called out for additional services. Nearby residents were evacuated and nearby roads were closed as the fire continued to grow. The fire was put out by 9pm Saturday night.

A State Fire Marshall arrived on scene to begin investigation, but no details have been released as to the cause. The family also tells us a dog died in the fire. We are continuing to follow this story and will bring you the latest as it develops.
