Inspired by an old box of Betty Crocker recipe cards, we’ve launched a new segment called Retro Recipes. Each month, KC and her niece Mallory are trying out recipes from a bygone era. This month, they’re making a depression-era bread and a groovy seventies appetizer!
PEANUT BUTTER BREAD FROM 1932
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup peanut butter, creamy or smooth
- 1 1/3 cups milk
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix all dry ingredients together, then mix in the wet ingredients.
Bake in a well-greased bread pan for one hour.
