An Annual Polar Plunge taking place in Elk County Today.
The Elk County Striders kicking off the New Year with a nearly naked 2 mile run through the streets of Ridgway wearing as little as possible.
Some wearing bathing suits, and some close to being in their birthday suits. This before jumping into the Clarion River.
“We’re crazy, we’re a little bit crazy, it’s camaraderie, it’s the Striders, it’s tradition, keep the tradition going, that’s it, yeah good vibes.”
“It was pretty fun, pretty cold. It’s like a tradition, I do it every year now, so yeah. It started with my sister a couple of years ago, then my brother did it, then I started to do it.”
During the run participants stopped at the Elk County Courthouse to take a group photo as part of the annual tradition.
