Sandy Barbour Reacts to Chambers Resignation

Now over to college basketball where Penn State is searching for a new head coach. Patrick Chambers resigned from the position Yesterday due to allegations of inappropriate conduct.

This came after a long internal investigation from the university. In 9 years, Chambers went 148-150 with no NCAA tournament appearances. Athletic Director Sandy Barbour said Yesterday that the decision was difficult to hear but she has faith in her players that they will get through this.

“Our players are talented, passionate, and resilient. They have been the authors of the rebirth of Penn State Basketball. Although it will take them a little time, I’m sure they will find their footing and move confidently and successfully through the academic year, through the COVID-19 environment, and the competitive season.”

Jim Ferry will now take over the program as they start a nationwide search. Ferry has 30 years of coaching experience including 19 as a head coach.
