Governor Wolf came to the Nittany Quill in Downtown State College to show his support for small businesses that are struggling to recover from the pandemic.

Wolf was joined by State Representative Scott Conklin, two Centre County Commissioners, the Mayor State College and other local officials.

The Governor called on the general assembly to invest an additional $225 million dollars out of the $1.7 billion in Federal funding available courtesy of the American Rescue Plan to assist small businesses trying to recover from pandemic induced losses.

He says elevated prices at small businesses are a small cost to help keep these shops alive.

“I’m a fan of…small businesses and I think that they really go a long way, and I understand the pricing issues, and all the issues that go along when consolidating companies come into a community, but the heart and soul of main street is right here.”

The Governor praised the owners of local stores for their determination and will to keep fighting on.
