The State College Spikes were in uncharted territory Thursday night. They were going for their Sweep as a member of the MLB Draft League, but a determined Mahoning Valley team was standing in their way.
In the Final Game from Eastwood Field, the Spikes and Scrappers faced off.
In the Top of the 1st, Lukas Cook singles to left and scores Zach Rasberry. It’s 1-0 Spikes.
In the Top of the 2nd with 2 on, Michael Dorcean hits a Sac Fly to right. He scores Luke Seidel making it 2-0 Spikes.
In the Bottom of the 2nd, Ducan Hewitt hits a solo Homer to left. A little later, Jason Nall singles to right scoring Jalen Jones and the Game is tied at 2.
The State College Spikes go on to secure the Sweep in a back and forth game, finishing with a Final Score of 8-6 for the Spikes.
