It’s been a Summer of reading for some kids in our area. Saint Marys Public Library is wrapping up its Children’s Summer reading program with awards and a scholastic book sale.
Kids in the program will receive awards based on how many books they read, librarians say it’s important to get kids reading as early as possible
“We want to gear everybody towards, not only being good at reading, but also trying to gear their interest so by the time they finish high school, they’ll have some kind of idea of what they want to do with their lives.”
The scholastic book sale starts tomorrow and will go until August 16th. Anyone can come out to buy a book you don’t have to bee involved with the Summer reading program.
