The borough will be offering these loans for up to twenty thousand dollars, and they come completely without interest.
State College had an earlier round of small business loans conclude after several months, as the final checks went out in the last few weeks.
The Communications Assistant to the Borough Manager, Doug Shontz, says these loans are designed to help small businesses, rather than larger conglomerates.
“Our redevelopment authority, the RDA that we have here locally, wants to provide some emergency, quick relief to small businesses. This is our second round of, of loans for that program. We’re targeting small, locally owned businesses, not regional or national chains.”
