Police are also warning the public after a Brockway man was scammed out of thousands of dollars by someone claiming to be a member of State Police.
Troopers say the man received a phone call Saturday from a man who identified himself as a Sgt. Jackson of the Pennsylvania State Police.
The man told the victim he was going to arrest him for not responding to arrest warrants unless he agreed to pay 45 thousand dollars.
State Police are using the incident to remind the public that troopers don’t personally contact people to request money for any kind of payments.
They say that anyone who receives these types of phone calls should not respond.
