The Steelers are feeling all the good JuJu right now. Despite the 10% chance to make the playoffs, the Black and Gold claimed the final wild card spot by sweeping the rival Ravens Sunday and letting the football
gods kind of handle the rest.
And by that, of course, I mean, referencing the Colts, losing to the Jaguars and then the Raiders winning in the final seconds to knock out the Chargers.
But that isn’t the good JuJu that we are referring to the actual JuJu Smith Schuster returning to the practice fields today and maybe in time for the playoffs.
But before we get ahead of ourselves, head coach Mike Tomlin said Today it was just a start for the wide receiver.
“He’s worked hard in rehabilitation and gotten himself to this point, and we simply started the 21 day window, will look at him sky fields and check his level of conditioning things that we normally do when people
get into that 21 day window. Kevin Dotson was probably the latest example of that prior to prior to Juju. Good to have him out here, but it’s just part of the process.”
Juju was placed on the reserve injured list on October 16th with a shoulder injury he sustained against the Denver Broncos back in Week five.
Now Smith Schuster remains on the reserve injured list, but the team has a 21 day window to activate him to the 53 man roster, or he remains on that list.
So even though it’s been 13 weeks since JuJu played, the guy who had to step out and take most of his reps said his counterpart looks like he could be back in the offense soon.
“Like I said, if he get a chance to play on the east side or from just to see do what he do, which is make plays and I’m sure everybody is missing him, do his dances and stuff either.
And like I say, I’m like coach telling me that this isn’t, but it was good just seeing him out there move around again.”
