Steelers Recap

After a good start to the season on Monday against the New York Giants, the Pittsburgh Steelers playing their first game inside an empty Heinz Field,as they took on the Denver Broncos.

No Terrible Towels in the stands but the Steelers still played with the home field advantage.

In the first, Broncos Drew Lock scrambling, gets away from TJ Watt but Bud Dupree strips him. Mike Hilton recovers. Lock hurt his shoulder on the tackle, did not return. That set up a James Conner touchdown.

To the 2nd quarter, a 7-3 game, Steelers lost a punt return touchdown due to a penalty but the next play Big Ben goes deep to the rookie Chase Claypool who tiptoes the sidelines and he’s off to the races. 84 Yards for the touchdown. 14-3 Steelers.

The Broncos came back though, got to within 3 in the 3rd, but Ben Roethlisberger looks like he put this away as he moves around the pocket and fires to Diontae Johnson for the 28 yard touchdown. Makes it 24-14.

But the Broncos stuck around, get to within 5 with 2 minutes to go, but the backup QB Jeff Driskell is sacked by Terrell Edmunds on 4th down.

Steelers hold on to go to 2-0.

The Steelers defense picked up 7 sacks and an interception. Big Ben went for over 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. Steelers host the Houston Texans next Sunday at 1.
