Police say they have a “strong” person of interest in custody in last week’s killing and he was located at an Altoona McDonald’s.
They identified the individual as 26 year old Luigi Mangione of Maryland.
Mangione was spotted at the McDonald’s on East Plank Road.
An employee recognized him from police flyers and reported him to local authorities.
On his person, police say they found fraudulent id’s, a firearm and suppressor consistent with what was used in the murder, as well as clothing and a mask that match what was seen on surveillance footage.
Mangione also reportedly had a handwritten, three page document, railing against the health care industry
“It does seem he has some ill will toward corporate America.”
The investigation is ongoing. So far, Mangione faces gun charges.
