The Fifth Local Eatery and Alehouse

There’s a new place to eat in Cambria County, and it’s called “The Fifth Local Eatery and Alehouse.”

“The whole concept and vibe we’re definitely trying to go for that modern-day bar feel,” said partner & co-owner, Corey Crocco.

Corey is also the owner of “Flair of Country Catering” partnering with Dom Chippie of “Rizzo’s Restaurant of Windber” and the Martella family to combine years of restaurant experience in creating something new for the area.

“When you look at the menu, you can definitely see Flair of Country and you can definitely see Rizzo’s in it. I think we did a great job at smashing those two flavors together,” Corey said.

The new space comes after decades of it being known as “The Alibi,” a well known spot for locals to eat and drink.

“We came in, we took the place apart, and we put the place back together,” Corey said.

Now, with a new vibe and a new name, they’re re-energizing the bar’s original concept and theme.

“Our whole concept was: you no longer need an alibi, because you can plead the fifth. We wanted to keep “The Alibi” around, but play off that.”

They’ll have a variety of beer, wine, and cocktails including a “5th Amendment Lager” brewed especially for their establishment along with a homemade menu.

“You have everything from our pulled pork to homemade meatballs, to a homemade marinara to smoked cheese.”

Corey says they formed this idea right before the pandemic began last year, and now have their tables spaced 6 feet apart while counting how many people are inside.

Although, they’ll put up with those pandemic challenges to be known as a good bar and restaurant.

“A bar with really good food. That food/beverage establishment that everyone can come to and really feel welcome and comfortable,” Corey said.

The Fifth’s opening hours are 11:00am – 11:00pm Monday through Sunday.
