Williams Trial

A Crime Commited 26 years ago in State College is now headed for trial. 49 year old Scott Williams of Roseville waived a preliminary hearing today in Centre County Court. Police say DNA evidence and a family genetic link led to Williams arrest last month.

He’s accused of assaulting and raping a woman near Downtown State College back in May of 1995. Police say the woman was left for dead and required a series of surgeries to recover. five years after the incident, police filed a John Doe criminal complaint.

They didn’t have a suspect. Just the DNA evidence. Their investigation eventually led them to Williams mother, who provided a DNA sample that police say was crucial in making the arrest.
