A program providing free lunches for children 18 years old and younger kicked off at the Altoona Area School District.
It runs through July 28th from 11am until 1pm.
The sites are Altoona Junior High School, Juniata, Irving and Pleasant Valley Elementary.
Lunches include Cheesburgers, Hot Dogs, Pizza, Chicken Nuggets, Corn Dogs, French Fries and more.
While at lunch kids can also be a part of the Summer Reading Book Borrow Program. Where kids can select a book, a teacher checks it out for student, and upon its return the teacher gives the student a raffle ticket put their name on …..and place into a ticket container.
At the end of each weeek, a ticket is pulled for a winner.
