In Blair County a lot of people came out to watch the Blair County War Veterans Council’s annual Memorial Day parade. In Altoona .
Included were almost 50 units and thousands of participants.
The parade started on 8th Ave and ended at the Veterans Mall on 11th Avenue, which is named after World War 2 Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, Robert E. Laws.
Afterwards, the council held its annual observance ceremony on the grounds of that mall, where they recognized Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. And hoisted a new flag to fly over it.
