Authorities with the Altoona Police Department have charged a local man after he was accused of inappropriately filming a young child over the weekend.
According to the affidavit, police say 24-year-old Nasir Garner had reportedly visited an apartment, located along East Walnut Avenue, on Sunday to do laundry.
Police say while he was visiting, Garner reportedly began playing hide-and-seek with the two young children, ages 3 and 5, who live at the residence.
Authorities say at one point, the 5-year-old reportedly went outside with his mother, for approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
Police say when the mother returned to the residence, she reportedly found the 3-year-old girl in a bedroom, without pants.
Police say Garner was reportedly holding the child’s clothing in his hand and the mother reported seeing his phone camera on and laying on his lap.
Authorities say when the mother asked the child why she had removed her clothing, the toddler reportedly replied, “because he (Garner) told me to.”
According to online court records, Garner was arraigned Monday on one count of corruption of minors.
He is being held at the Blair County Prison on $75,000 bail.
