We talked to Organizers about Security at one Festival in Centre County. The tragedy earlier in the day cast a dark shadow over Independence Day, but 4th Fest was hoping to bring the cheer back to the day. The gates to Medlar Field opened and events ran throughout the evening, including live music, children’s activities and fireworks.
However, the tragedy earlier in the day brought security questions to similar events across the United States. We spoke to 4th Fest President Kurt Weibel about those concerns. Weibel/President saying: “Well obviously, there’s always concerns but we have taken all measures with Penn State University and the Penn State Police as well, so we are secured and have a lot of coverage.”
Weibel also expressed remorse for those impacted by the shooting.
