Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers confirmed that a local man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl has entered a plea.
Officials say Jonathan Maines entered an open plea Monday to charges of statutory sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors.
Maines was charged last year after he allegedly assaulted a young girl at a home in Clearfield Borough.
An open plea means that the judge will determine Maines’ sentencing, without any input from the prosecution.
Online court records show that a second count of statutory sexual assault, as well as one count each of aggravated indecent assault and rape of child were previously withdrawn in the case.
A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
