A local group is gearing up for its annual fundraiser with the goal of raising awareness about water safety and ultimately, saving lives.
The Eastin Charles Foundation was started after a local boy named Eastin lost his life by drowning.
Eastin’s family says they want to prevent other families from experiencing the same pain.
The group is planning a golf outing at Ebensburg Country Club on June 24th starting at 1 pm.
The event will help them raise money so they can continue to provide education and other servcies like CPR training.
“Our ultimate goal is to save as many lives as we possibly can.”
Organizers say Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is expected to attend the event.
Hamlin suffered an on-field medical emergency and nearly died during an NFL game last year. Officials said, he was likely saved by CPR.
