State officials are continuing to monitor the site of one of the world’s worst natural gas leaks
That happened right here in our coverage area. The Department of Environmental Protection says
Last week it inspected discharges from the George l Read 1 Conventional Well
Which is part of the Equitrans Rager Mountain natural gas storage area in Jackson Township, Cambria County.
The Pa Environment Digest reported in March that state officials found a sheen on a nearby wetland
And issued violation notices for failing to prevent the discharge of industrial waste.
DEP officials tested the water last week for contaminants but did not note any conclusions in their reports.
