Juniata River Water Rescue

Officials with the Geeseytown Fire Company say two people were rescued Thursday afternoon after their raft become stuck along the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River near Hollidaysburg.

Fire officials say water rescue crews were dispatched to the area of East Loop Road and Allis Lane, around 4:30 p.m., for reports of five people stuck on the raft.

Rescue crews say three of the individuals had self-rescued prior to authorities arriving on scene.

911 officials say all five individuals were transported to UPMC Altoona for medical evaluations. It’s unclear if there were any injuries.
