State police in Centre County have filed charges against a Lancaster County man following an investigation into accusations that he inappropriately touched multiple young children.
Troopers say a liaison for one area Amish community reported that 31-year-old Gideon Byler, of Gordonville, had been accused of touching several juveniles, ranging from 3 to 10 years of age, within the community.
Investigators say the liaison noted that Byler had been sent away to a facility following the accusations.
Police say when they spoke to Byler, he reportedly admitted to the alleged assaults.
Troopers noted that one of the victims also claimed that he had been physically assaulted and punched by Byler.
According to online court records, Byler was arraigned on one count of indecent assault and was released without bail.
