A fire that broke out in a Saint Marys apartment Sunday Morning left one person dead. The Assistant Fire Chief tells us the person was trapped by the fire in a third story apartment on Washington Avenue. They say that fire appears to have started in a bathroom.
The victim has been identified as Timothy A. Beardsley, and was reportedly the only occupant in the building at the time of the fire.
The Fire Marshall and Elk County Coroner were called to the scene to investigate. No other injuries were reported, and the fire was contained in a single apartment.
